Feathered Friends
Finale - Bird Bath
After a couple of weeks holiday, I came back to no trace of my feathered friends. They must have been quite disappointed day after day not getting their favorite grapes or honey. I wonder if they missed me. I wonder if they still remember me. I hope they will visit some day.
"Bird Bath" is the last and the longest video of my collection, also a first of this nature! I was amazed at their having fun in a tiny makeshift bird bath which was originally intended for quenching their thirst. Their excitement had nowhere to hide. All that was left behind was not just a dirty tub of water but pure joy and beautiful memory. Thank you my friends! See you in the not too distant future!

It's only animal instinct to fight for food or territory. Our cute rainbow lorikeets do that too. No loss of blood, just a few feathers.

Fatty has 1 talon missing

This is how I confirm which one is Fatty. I haven't seen any other rainbow lorikeets with missing talons. That makes a unique identifier. Also noticed that Fatty's head feathers are of a brighter blue while its partner's are more purple than blue.
The Private Lounge

To save the lorikeets from the Currawong's intrusion of their privacy, I set up a private lounge in a corner of the balcony which is not in the Currawong's line of vision. The idea was good but it didn't work as the Currawong still drops by frequently.
